We purchased our generator from Gabel Equipment and during the initial
installation we ran into a snag with the building department. Chris Gabel of Gabel Equipment was extremely patient and co-operative and removed the generator
from its mount to facilitate surveyors plotting the placement as requested by
the town. Mr. Gabel was also very helpful by coming out and measuring decibel (sound) levels to help enable that extra permits be passed through. When all of the red tape was cleared, Chris and his team were here to finish the installation right away and coordinated well with the electrician to have the unit up and running. If ever there is any problem, Gabel Equipment is here either the same day or next.

There are few things more reassuring than listening to weather forecasts of high winds, icing, or other conditions, and knowing that there's no need to worry about the power outages that will surely result. 

  Our family belongs to that lucky group who need not worry. Why? Because we have owned a GEC generator set since 1980. As a matter of fact, just as we have kept up with advances in computer technology by updating our computer equipment, we have been so struck by advances in generator sound attenuation, that we have become "second generation" GEC customers.

I initially chose to work with Gabel Equipment to install my standby home generator because they were able to assess my needs and come up with a practical, cost saving solution. In my case, that meant using my existing home fuel oil tanks as a source of diesel fuel for the standby generator. Most other firms I spoke to were pushing natural gas fired generators which would have required the installation of large, ugly new tanks on my property.

We worked together well to properly site the new equipment so that it was out of sight when one approaches the house or looks out the windows. The Gabel Equipment installation team arrived on schedule. We worked together to identify the proper circuits to put on the standby system.

The power has gone out several times since the generator was installed in mid-2006 and it has performed like a champ.

The real test for any service provider is when there is a problem. We did have a problem with shortly after installation with the fuel pump. The Gabel team was very responsive. I am pleased to have Gabel Equipment "standing by" my standby generator.
